Quilts of Valor

A Quilt of Valor® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war.  The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.”

To use the term Quilt of Valor, Quilts of Valor or QOV, the quilt must be a specific size, must have a label with required information, it must be awarded (it is not a gift) and it must be recorded.

Quilts = Healing!

George Washington High School JROTC

The George Washington High School JROTC program, led by Sergeant First Class Joseph Ramos, is dedicated to developing leadership, discipline, and teamwork in our cadets both in the classroom and through hands-on experiences. Special teams such as Drill Team, Color Guard, and the Raider Team play a vital role in this mission by providing students with opportunities to build confidence, represent our school and community, and compete at high levels. However, these programs require funding for uniforms, equipment, competition fees, and travel expenses—costs that go beyond our standard budget.

SSG Justin Vasquez Memorial Scholarship Fund

The SSG Justin Vasquez Memorial Scholarship Fund was formed to honor one that gave the ultimate sacrifice for his country. The family wishes to assist graduating high school seniors in becoming productive and contributing participants in their community. Additionally, the family believes in the importance of attaining an education and the necessity of having high standards of work ethics. Thus, these esteemed values are passed on to the succeeding generations.

Since 2008, at least two $500 scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors.  This scholarship is open to any graduating high school senior.  Check the website for due date and application!
